Sejko receives Ambassador Ventura: Expansion of financial cooperation with Spain!
On July 7, 2025, Governor Gent Sejko received in an official meeting at the Bank of Albania, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Albania, H.E. Gabriel Cremades Ventura. During this meeting, Sejko expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the very good relations that exist between the two countries, evaluating Spain as an important European partner.
The Governor presented the country's economic panorama to the Ambassador, stating that the Albanian economy and the main indicators of its economic, monetary and financial stability are on a positive development trend. " Economic and financial developments in the country have been positive during 2025. Economic activity has increased, inflation has stabilized at low levels, financial markets have been calm with accommodative financing conditions. Also, forecasts for future economic developments remain positive," the Governor said.
His Excellency, Ambassador Cremades congratulated the Bank of Albania for the work carried out in maintaining the country's macroeconomic stability, guaranteeing financial stability and strengthening the sustainability of the economy. He also highlighted the progress made by the Albanian economy during this period as a valuable achievement of the country on its path to membership in the European Union.
During the conversation, the Ambassador particularly praised the policies pursued by the Bank of Albania towards its main objective, maintaining price stability. He emphasized that through its monetary policy, the Bank of Albania has created appropriate conditions for the stable and timely return of inflation to target, while ensuring a healthy financial environment and ample credit.
The interlocutors then shared the same opinion regarding the progress made in the field of tourism and its development potential as a promoter of the country's economic development. In this regard, the banking sector has also made its contribution through increased attention and financing of tourism.
Ambassador Cremades emphasized Spain's support for Albania in all areas of cooperation, especially in the process of its integration into the European Union. He expressed Spain's full support for the accession process.
The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of implementing economic and structural reforms, which will contribute to increasing economic cooperation with Spain as a strategic partner, in the field of trade relations and in increasing foreign investment in Albania.
In conclusion, the Governor and the Ambassador shared the same opinion on their willingness to further develop cooperation between the Bank of Albania and the Bank of Spain, mainly in the field of the financial system.
