The hottest day, temperatures exceed 40 degrees! - Elbasan and Berat, among the

Wednesday marks the peak of the heat wave that has gripped the country for several days. Maximum temperatures are estimated at 41 to 42 degrees Celsius in the hottest areas, with Elbasan and Berat among the cities where the thermometer records the highest values. High temperatures are also recorded in the capital and in most of the western lowlands.

According to the Military Meteorological Service, the country's territory is under the influence of stable and hot air masses. The weather remains mostly clear, while few transient clouds appear mainly in the high mountainous areas during the second part of the day.

The peak temperatures are in the midday and afternoon hours, when in low-lying areas the values exceed the threshold of 40 degrees. Forecasters describe Wednesday as the hottest day of this wave, with temperatures that in specific areas could approach 42 degrees Celsius in the shade.

The intense heat will not go away immediately. Temperatures will remain high in the coming days, although without necessarily reaching the maximum values of this Wednesday.

In conditions of extreme temperatures, citizens are advised to limit exposure to the sun during the hottest hours, to drink water regularly, and to use light clothing and sun protection. Increased caution is suggested for the elderly, children, and people with health problems, who are more exposed to dehydration and heat stroke.
