Brussels, Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Customs is signed within the framework of the "Green Lanes" Initiative

Today, in Brussels, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the General Directorate of Customs of the Republic of Albania, represented by the Director General, Genti Gazheli, and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) of the Hellenic Republic, represented by the Governor, Georgios Pitsilis.
The signing ceremony was hosted by Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and brought together heads of customs authorities, as well as the CEFTA Director and the Transport Community Director.
This Memorandum is part of the "Green Lanes" Initiative, which aims to simplify and accelerate border controls, reduce waiting times and facilitate trade flows between the European Union and the Western Balkan partner countries, through increased coordination and data exchange between customs administrations.
During the event, Commissioner Kos emphasized the importance of strengthening customs cooperation to support regional integration, facilitate trade and increase economic sustainability.
This agreement constitutes a concrete step towards modernizing customs cooperation and accelerating border procedures, in line with European standards and the objectives of the European Union integration process.
