October doubles the number of foreign tourists/ Germans and Italians recorded the highest number of visitors

Tourism continued to show positive signs during October, bringing a significant improvement in both the number of visitors and the number of nights spent in accommodation facilities in the country. According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), during October the total number of visitors increased by 39.1% compared to the same period a year earlier.
The most significant increase was recorded by non-resident visitors, who marked an increase of 55.4%, indicating that the presence of foreign tourists during this period has doubled. Meanwhile, domestic visitors had a more moderate increase, by 5.8%, reflecting a stability of the domestic demand for tourist accommodation.
Nights spent also increased, increasing by 17.4% in total. Nights spent by foreign visitors increased significantly by 26%, confirming the trend of more stays by international tourists. In contrast, for domestic visitors, a decrease of 3.1% in night stays was recorded, compared to October 2024.
From a geographical point of view, the largest increase in visitors was recorded in coastal areas, where their number increased by 73.6%, confirming the continued attractiveness of the coast even outside the peak summer season. In parallel, alternative and similar accommodations recorded a significant increase of 54.4%.
Regarding the origin of non-resident visitors, in October 2025 the majority of them came from Kosovo, with 14% of the total. Italy and Germany each contributed 13%, while France and the United Kingdom represented 7% and 5% of visitors, respectively. The remaining part, around 48%, consisted of visitors from other countries, which testifies to the expansion of markets and the increase in international interest in Albania as a tourist destination.
In the same positive line is the hotel room occupancy rate which reached 31.6% during October, from 27.7% in October 2024, reflecting a further improvement in the sector's performance.
