Customs Administration, 9.1% more revenue in July - Imports of excise goods also increase, 137 billion lek in 7 months
23.2 billion lek in revenue, or 9.1% more compared to the same month of 2024, were collected by the customs administration. This result is an indicator of an increasing pace of performance, as well as increasingly effective cooperation with business. In particular, during this month there was a significant increase in imports of excise goods, with an increase in the volume of customs-cleared fuel, cigarettes, coffee and beer. In July, the following were imported:
IN JULY THEY WERE IMPORTED
▪️ 5,200 tons more fuel
▪️ 58 tons more cigarettes
▪️ 60 tons more coffee
▪️ 200 tons more beer
Meanwhile, for the period January-July 2025, total revenues reached 137 billion lek, exceeding the plan and marking an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period in 2024. It is worth noting that the unfavorable exchange rate for the euro and the dollar has brought a negative effect of 5 billion lek. Without this impact, revenues would have reached the value of 142 billion lek, which represents an even stronger increase: 8.2% more than in 2024 and 4% above the annual plan.
The increase in imports of excise goods during the first 7 months of the year has been particularly pronounced, contributing significantly to customs revenues:
CUSTOMS REVENUES
▪️ +50,000 tons of fuel
▪️ +154 tons of cigarettes
▪️ +162 tons of coffee
▪️ +4,700 tons of beer
These figures show not only the increase in demand for goods, but also the continuous efforts of the Customs Administration to ensure more efficient controls and facilitate the movement of goods. They also demonstrate a more trustworthy climate for economic operators.
