441 million lek for road maintenance - ARRSH announces winners for three regions, bids 7% lower than the fund limit
The Albanian Road Authority has announced the winners of 3 procurement procedures for the performance maintenance of the main road axes in the country, for the next 4 years.
The contract for the Northern Region was won by the company JUBICA, for the Southern Region by IDK-KONSTRUKSION, while the contract for the Central-Eastern Region was awarded to the company DELTAREX.
In total, the three procedures had a limit fund of about 474.7 million lek, while the winning bids are about 441.4 million lek, bringing a saving of about 33.8 million lek, or about 7% compared to the limit fund. Meanwhile, the winning company for lot 2, which includes the central and northeastern regions and procured with a limit fund of 1.1 billion lek, remains to be announced.
The program includes the maintenance of over 1,300 km of roads, divided into four contracts by region. The contract for the northern region covers 242.2 km of roads, the one for the central and northeastern region 294.1 km, the contract for the eastern and southeastern region about 403 km, while the contract for the southern region 374.1 km.
The performance maintenance model foresees that contracting companies are responsible for guaranteeing road standards throughout the contract period, by carrying out continuous interventions such as repairs, cleaning, maintenance of signage, replacement of road safety elements and, in segments where necessary, also winter maintenance.
