22 fires reported, 5 still active – AKMC informs on the detailed situation

The National Civil Protection Agency informed today about the fire situation nationwide and announced that during the last 24 hours, 22 fire outbreaks have been reported, of which 5 are still active and 1 is under monitoring. These outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Bulqizë, Rrogozhinë, Kavajë, Vlorë, Himarë, Selenica, Librazhd, Malësi e Madhe, Mallakastër and Mirditë.

Currently, these fires remain active in the Dibër district, in the place called "Lake of Flowers", part of the Lura National Park, work has continued to extinguish a fire in a forest area with pine trees and meadows. The fire has also been reactivated in "Mali e Peladhisë", Zerqan administrative unit, Bulqizë municipality, which is spreading towards "Maja e Vlashës".

The fire, favored by high temperatures and wind, has developed into two fires. The Local Fire Service of the Bulqizë municipality is on the ground with 8 employees, but despite the efforts, the situation has not yet been brought under control. There is no danger to homes. In the village of Sinë e Sipërme, Arras administrative unit, Dibër municipality, a fire has broken out in an area of oak forest.

There are 5 officers from the Dibër MZSH and 6 municipal forces at the scene, who are working with backpack pumps and emergency vehicles in difficult terrain. So far, about 4 ha of forest have burned and the work to extinguish the fire is continuing today.

In the Tirana district, work continues to extinguish the fire that broke out on 10.07.2025 in the village of Zambishë, which spread to the villages of Okshtun, Levonje, Himenrajë, Memollaj, Thertor, Koçaj, Sheshaj, Brendaj (Lekaj and Sinaballaj administrative units, Rrogozhinë municipality).

Last night, the fire reached large proportions, especially in the villages of Thartor, Sheshaj, Prendaj and Dakaj, requiring aerial intervention with two Armed Forces helicopters, which helped extinguish several fires that threatened homes, olive groves and pine forests.

The firefighting forces of the Rrogozhina municipality worked on the ground with 6 vehicles, 30 officers, 20 municipal service employees, 20 local residents and two AF helicopters. So far, about 80-90 ha of bushes and thorns have been burned, as well as over 70 young and centuries-old olive trees.

In the Fier region, in the village of Drenova, administrative unit Qendër Dukas, municipality of Mallakastër, a fire has broken out in an area of bushes and thorn bushes. As a result, about 2.5 ha and about 250 olive trees have been burned. Today, a fire has been reactivated, where the forces of the MZSH and municipal structures are operating with backpack pumps and emergency vehicles.

In monitoring in the Elbasan region, in "Malini Plak", the Polis administrative unit, the Librazhd municipality, a fire in a forest area has low intensity and is under the monitoring of local structures. The fires have been recorded mainly in areas with bushes and vegetation, causing the burning of over 107 hectares and about 100 olive trees.

In the village of Dragovoje, Malësi e Madhe municipality, 3 more buildings used for keeping small livestock were burned. 25 firefighting vehicles and 305 operational forces were deployed in the fire extinguishing operations. The Armed Forces also contributed 30 personnel, 2 firefighting vehicles and 2 helicopters.

AKMB announces that, based on the forecasts of the Institute of Geosciences, localized rainfall is expected today in the regions of Shkodër, Kukës and Dibër. For forest fires, a "High" risk is expected today in the regions of Lezhë, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë and Gjirokastër, and a "Moderate" risk in the other regions.

In some regions, high risk is expected only in localized areas: Shkodër (south), Durrës (northeast) and Vlorë (north). The risk is expected to be higher during the next day. AKMC adds that civil protection structures remain continuously engaged in the coordination and timely intervention to extinguish any fire. AKMC also calls on all citizens to show increased caution and immediately notify the authorities if they detect fires in the field.
