10 million euros of tax evasion in two years – DPT: The subject was trading livestock products in Tirana!
During a joint inspection of the Tax Administration task force and the structures of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, on the outskirts of Tirana, a case of tax evasion was discovered, where an entity engaged in the trading of livestock products had hidden tax liabilities of 10 million euros within just two years.
The General Directorate of Taxes announced that there will be no tolerance for cases of this nature and that focused interventions will continue to target entities operating outside the legal framework.
The GDT calls on all entities to respect legal obligations and act in accordance with relevant rules, emphasizing the importance of market formalization not only for fair competition, but also for guaranteeing food safety.
Citizens are also invited to denounce any abuse or violation of the law that violates public health and the fair functioning of the market.
