North Macedonia, 150 million USD for defense/ British investment aims to build a factory serving the industry

British defense and security consulting company Burstock plans to invest around $150 million in North Macedonia, building a factory that will strengthen the defense industry.
The Macedonian government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Burstock for the planned investment, the country’s Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, said in a social media post. He noted that the factory is expected to employ up to 1,000 people, adding that “this is just the beginning.”
The project is seen as a major boost to Macedonia's industrial and technological capabilities as the country seeks to expand its role in the regional defense sector. Analysts note that such projects could help improve skills and create high-value jobs, attracting further investment in the future.
This step also aligns with the government's plan to strengthen national security and develop local expertise in advanced technologies. According to Mickoski, investments in the military industry are expected to reach more than one billion dollars.
Burstock is a company that provides specialized consulting services in the fields of defense, security, intelligence, diplomacy, as well as business development and training.
"This firm has extensive experience in managing complex projects and offers advanced expertise in the maritime and aviation commercial sectors," the Macedonian prime minister added.
