Kosovo, 198 businesses benefit from the grant scheme - Agreement worth 9 million euros signed with KIESA
The Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) has signed agreements worth 8.9 million euros with 198 enterprises benefiting from the grant scheme. These grants aim to purchase advanced manufacturing and processing machinery, product certification, and support the Information and Communication Technology sector.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises is evidence of their vision for sustainable development.
"Creating a favorable environment for doing business and increasing the competitiveness of our enterprises remain unchanged priorities. With this next investment, we are providing direct support for unlocking the potential and growth of local industry," said Kurti.
The country's leader also spoke about the sharing of grant schemes by KIESA and beneficiaries.
"The first is the scheme to support manufacturing enterprises for the purchase of machinery; 129 beneficiary enterprises with a financial value of 7.3 million euros. Its aim is to expand production and processing capacities, as well as increase their competitiveness in the international market. The second is the grant scheme for businesses operating in the information and communication technology sector. There are 42 beneficiary firms with a value of 1 million euros. While the third is related to product certification, from which 27 businesses benefit and has a value of 600 thousand euros ," Kurti explained.
On the other hand, official KIESA sources said that out of 198 entities, 93 of them are enterprises that have benefited from the state budget for the first time, while the other 105 have not received grants in the last three years.
