Trump "tolerates" Iran again - Gives it 10 days to reopen Hormuz, or attacks on power plants

US President Donald Trump said he will again extend the deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, or face the destruction of its power plants.
The four-week war has spread across the Middle East, killing thousands of people and hitting the global economy with high energy prices, fueling global fears of inflation.
On Thursday, Trump threatened during a White House cabinet meeting to increase pressure on Iran if a deal is not reached. He later posted on social media that he would halt threatened attacks on Iranian power plants for 10 days until 8 p.m. Eastern Time on April 6 (00:00 GMT on April 7).
"Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary from the Fake News Media and others, they are going very well," he added in his post on Truth Social.
On March 23, Trump announced a halt to all threatened attacks against power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, but has now extended that to 10 days.
Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas are transported, raising energy prices and roiling financial markets.
The prospect of retaliatory attacks on civilian infrastructure could further shake global markets and threaten the livelihoods of millions of civilians in the region, who rely on electricity to power their cities and provide drinking water.
