Fuel prices, Transparency Board: Diesel up to 203 lek per liter, gasoline 175 lek per liter

The Transparency Board, in its meeting today, has determined the wholesale and retail prices of fuels in the market. The following is the announcement made by the Board:
The decisions of the Transparency Board on March 26, 2026, are a result of the increase in prices on the Platts Mediterranean exchange, where gasoline has decreased by -3.35 $/ton and gasoil has decreased by -7.1 $/ton since 25.03.2026.
As a result, the prices set are:
The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 203 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 191 lek/liter.
The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 175 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 163 lek/liter.
The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, March 26th at 6:30 pm and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
The Transparency Board, since its creation, has strictly adhered in its decisions to the movement of the Plats Mediterranean stock exchange for diesel, gasoline, as well as the official invoices of the operators.
We emphasize that the Board does not set the prices of crude oil, but of diesel, gasoline and liquefied gas according to the standards set out in the Normative Act.
The Board has only set maximum gross margins for wholesale and retail sales, with which operators must cover all operating expenses.
So, the decisions made by the board and the change in selling prices are related only to changes in the Mediterranean Platz exchange for diesel and gasoline, not the crude oil exchange, as well as to the movement of the dollar exchange rate.
All other elements that form the price are fixed and the board does not make decisions about these.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market.
The situation we are going through is not usual, therefore the decisions we make come in response to developments in the domestic economy but also to movements in international markets.
We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.
In case of violations found by various operators, the suspension of activity will be decided.
