Four countries carry the "weight" of investments in Albania - BoA: Netherlands in first place with 202 million euros. Italy, Kosovo and Turkey follow

The Netherlands, Italy, Kosovo and Turkey are the countries that brought the most investments to Albania last year. The latest data from the Bank of Albania shows that the Dutch state holds the first place with 202 million euros of new flows in 2025, thus becoming the main investor in Albania.
Meanwhile, Italy ranks second, having maintained a constant investment value ranging from 45 - 50 million euros per quarter, while in total, Albania appears to have absorbed 187 million euros of investment from the Italian state from the beginning to the end of the year.
The sister state, Kosovo, after breaking a record of 90 million euros in investments during the third quarter, surpassing all other countries, is positioned third for 2025. This shows that Kosovo is not only a key trading partner, in addition to the many other ties and cooperations that exist between the two states, but also a state that invests significant amounts of money in various sectors of the country, especially in real estate.
The rest of the Balkan region, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Serbia are also present in Albania with investments, but to a very small extent.
Meanwhile, Turkey, which has often held the "throne" of foreign direct investments in the country, comes in fourth with 181 million euros. Thus, the countries of origin for 46.3% of investments in Albania result in only four countries.
What stands out from the official statistics is the presence of investments from several countries that are located far from Albania, such as the Cayman Islands, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Kuwait and Lebanon.
