With the fourth quarter assessment, INSTAT provided a preliminary estimate of Gross Domestic Product for 2025, according to which the Albanian economy recorded a growth of 3.79% compared to 2024. Meanwhile, in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, GDP in real terms was estimated to have grown by 3.80% compared to the same period a year earlier.

The largest contribution to the economic growth of the last quarter was made by the construction sector with 1.17 percentage points, followed by “Public administration, education and health” with 1.02 percentage points. A positive impact was also provided by net taxes on products with 1.54 percentage points, real estate activities with 0.32 percentage points, as well as trade, transport, accommodation and food services with 0.22 percentage points. On the other hand, agriculture, industry, energy and water, as well as information and communication, negatively affected the performance of the economy.

More specifically, “Public administration, education and health” recorded the highest annual growth of 8.30%, followed by “Construction” with 7.36% and “Real estate activities” with 6.25%. Likewise, “Financial and insurance activities” increased by 2.82%, while “Trade, transport, accommodation and food services” with 1.14%. “Arts, entertainment and recreation; other service activities” with 0.81% and “Professional and administrative services” with 0.11% also recorded a slight increase.

On the negative side, “Information and Communication” decreased by 3.55%, “Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing” shrank by 2.19%, while “Industry, Energy and Water” fell by 1.59%. Also, INSTAT reports that net taxes on products increased by 12.02% during this period.

Among other things, the seasonally adjusted GDP indicator in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the previous quarter, is estimated to have increased by 0.88%, confirming the continuation of the positive pace of the economy at the end of the year.
