Projects 2027–2029, priority investment routes - Total cost of mature projects reaches 5.27 billion euros

The Albanian government has identified a series of priority projects with "mature" status for the period 2027–2029, which are considered ready for financing and implementation, having passed the feasibility study phase or are at an advanced stage of technical preparation.
The list of projects with a total value of around 5.27 billion euros shows a clear dominance of the transport sector, especially the road and railway sectors, which absorb a significant portion of the planned investments.
Among the projects, the construction of the Elbasan bypass stands out, an important intervention to ease traffic and improve connectivity at one of the country's most important road junctions. Its implementation requires an investment of around 240 million euros, ranking it among the largest infrastructure projects on the list.
Along the same lines, another strategic project is the Milot-Balldren segment, part of the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor, with a value of over 213 million euros, which aims to improve north-south connectivity and integration into regional networks.
The list also includes a number of other road projects of national importance, such as: Construction of the Elbasan-Lekaj axis, part of Corridor VIII, with an investment of around 360 million euros, expansion of the Tirana-Durrës highway and the Tirana-Ndroq-Plepa road, etc.
In addition to roads, mature projects also include investments in rail and maritime transport, as well as in the energy and environmental sectors.
