China, a car "factory" - Plans to sell over 32 million vehicles in 2025

China has set an ambitious target of selling about 32.3 million vehicles by 2025, as part of a new plan to stabilize and accelerate the growth of the auto industry. The added value of the auto manufacturing sector is expected to grow by about 6 percent year-on-year.
One of the main pillars of the plan is to promote domestic consumption. To this end, 25 pilot cities will be established where the electrification of public vehicle fleets will be focused. Within these cities, it is expected to add over 700,000 new energy vehicles, including buses and logistics vehicles.
The plan also aims to promote electric vehicles in rural areas, where investments will be made in expanding local charging and battery swapping infrastructure. Assistance for buyers will also come in the form of fiscal incentives, such as tax reductions or exemptions for the purchase of new cars, as well as through reforms in the insurance system.
Another important aspect of the plan is the policy of replacing old vehicles with new ones. It is envisaged that areas with restrictions on vehicle purchases will be encouraged to improve their regulations in order to promote the purchase of more advanced cars.
The plan also focuses on the development of advanced technologies and intelligent systems. This is done with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers and ensuring a sustainable supply chain for the industry.
In terms of infrastructure, complete networks of charging and battery swapping stations will be built in all cities and municipalities. The plan also includes measures to standardize competition within the industry, to better supervise the dismantling of old vehicles and the recycling of used batteries.
