With a limited fund of 587 million lek, the Albanian Road Authority plans to intervene in improving signage and road safety elements on some of the country's main axes.
According to the tender documents, the projects envisage the improvement of horizontal and vertical signage, lighting and other safety elements, such as metric distance signals. The interventions will consist of refreshing, completing or adding elements that are missing or have been damaged over the years.
Road interventions will extend to several axes, divided into three main regions. In the Northern Region, the intervention will include the segments Milot–Hani i Hotit, Milot–Lezhë–Shkodër, Qafë Mali–Fierzë and Qafë Bualli–Ura e Cerenec.
In the Center-West Region (Tirana), the projects will be implemented on the axes Bishti i Zhurit–Elbasan, Cerrik–Belsh, Belsh–Kosovë e Vogël, Fier Shegan–Kozarë, City Park–Durrës and Banjë–Gramsh. Meanwhile, in the Southern Region Gjirokastër, the interventions will focus on the roads Tepelenë–Gusmar–Kuç, Qeparo–Ura e Laskos, Ura e Leklit–Këlcyrë–Përmet, Levan–Kufi Mallakastër, etc.
According to the ARRSH, the project was designed based on the assessments of design specialists, but also in consultation with representatives of the Traffic Police, to address all factors that affect road safety.
The Road Authority emphasizes that these interventions are quick and have an immediate impact, contributing to reducing accidents and improving the experience for local and foreign road users.
