How much does a tank of oil cost at current prices? A full tank of oil costs from 9,100 to 9,450 lekë

The price of oil in the Albanian market has increased in recent days, reflecting pressure from international energy markets. Currently, at gas stations in the country, oil is traded at levels ranging from around 182 lek per liter, up to 185 lek, while in some cases it reaches 189 lek per liter. Although the difference between the different stations may seem small per liter, it becomes much more noticeable when translated into the cost of filling a car tank.
"Scan Intel", to more clearly understand the impact of these prices, has taken as an example an average car with a tank of about 50 liters.
If diesel is purchased at 182 lek per liter, a full tank costs about 9,100 lek. At points where the price is 185 lek per liter, the same amount of fuel costs about 9,250 lek. While in cases where diesel is sold at 189 lek per liter, the cost for a full tank reaches about 9,450 lek.
This means that the difference between the cheapest and most expensive point on the market can reach around 350 lek for a single tank fill.
The impact becomes even more noticeable when compared to the level of wages. According to data on the average wage in the country, an employee in Albania receives around 83,300 lek gross per month.
At the current price of 182 lek per liter, a 50-liter tank costs about 9,100 lek, or approximately 11% of the average monthly wage. If fuel is purchased at 185 lek per liter, the cost of a fill-up amounts to about 9,250 lek, or approximately 11.1% of the average wage. While at a price of 189 lek per liter, a full tank costs about 9,450 lek, which represents approximately 11.3% of the average gross monthly wage, or approximately 14% of the net wage.
For drivers who use their cars regularly, the monthly cost of fuel becomes even more significant. If a vehicle is filled up on average four times a month, the cost of diesel can reach from around 36,400 lekë at a price of 182 lekë per liter, to around 37,800 lekë at a price of 189 lekë per liter.
This means that regular use of a vehicle can take up over 40% of the average monthly salary, just for fuel, making this one of the most significant expenses for many families' budgets.
