Albania "challenges" the wave of prices in Europe/ Which countries are

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices, which measures price increases according to the methodology of the 'European Statistical Agency', is recorded at 2.1% in November 2025. On the other hand, inflation according to 'INSTAT' for the same period is fixed at 2.1%, so the rate is unquestionable according to the two measurement methods.

Official data shows that the average inflation in Europe is estimated at 2.4% and Albania is seen positioned below this limit for the month of November, which means that currently prices in our country are lower than the European average. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the countries with the highest price rate in Europe during November of this year are Romania with 8.6%, Kosovo with 5.3%, Estonia with 4.5% and Croatia with 4.3%.

If we analyze price increases by countries in the region, the figures show that Albania is positioned better compared to some of its neighbors in the region, including North Macedonia and Serbia, which recorded a price increase rate of 3.6% and 3.1% for the month of November.

Meanwhile, if we talk about the annual change of the groups, we see that the largest price increase of 8.6% is observed in the “Entertainment and culture” group, followed by the groups “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 2.7%, “Furniture, household equipment and maintenance” with 2.4%, “Educational services” and “Miscellaneous goods and services” with 2.3% each, “Hotels, cafes and restaurants” with 1.9%, “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” with 1.8%, “Health” with 1.3%, “Rent, water, fuel and energy” and “Communication” with 1.2% each, “Clothing and footwear” with 0.8%. On the other hand, the prices of the “Transport” group decreased by 0.5%.
