Kuwait surprises with imports in April/ Albania received more fuel from this

According to the data, in April, imports of goods reached 76 billion lek, increasing by 0.4%, compared to a year earlier. Meanwhile, if we analyze the first four months of the year in terms of imports, we see a decrease of 2.5%, compared to the same period in 2024.

"Scan Intel" has taken into account the data for the fourth month of the year regarding the main partners. Which countries complete the "Top 10" of the main suppliers of goods?

The figures show Italy in first place, followed by China, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Serbia, Poland, the United States, India and France. Compared to the same month last year, it seems that the main partners have changed. INSTAT figures say that Bulgaria has dropped out of the ranking to be replaced by India.

In April 2025, the countries with which Albania has had the largest increase in imports are India with 153%, Serbia with 12.5% and China with 11.1%. Meanwhile, on the other hand, among the main partners where the largest decrease is recorded, we can mention the United States with 30%. Interesting is the presence of Kuwait in April among the top 20 countries in imports. The value of imports with this market is estimated at 1.1 billion lek. This figure is much higher than the total imports with this country for 2024. If we look at the chapters, it turns out that we have imported fuels from this country with a value of 1.1 billion lek.

But what happened to exports and key partners?

Data shows that Italy, Kosovo and Greece continue to be the main destinations of our "Made in Albania" products, with a share of 62%. Germany, Spain, Serbia and China follow in line.

However, there has been a significant decline in exports with key partners such as North Macedonia by 45%, China by 32%, Spain by 27% and Italy by 7.7%. We have recorded significant increases with Kosovo, Greece, Germany and Slovakia.
