Only 13.3% regained their license after losing points - DPSHTRR: Procedure, re-registration from scratch at the driving school

Only 13.3% regained their license after losing points - DPSHTRR: Procedure,

As part of the initiative to increase road safety and restore responsibility to drivers, retesting sessions have been resumed for citizens who have lost points on their driving license.

According to the latest data from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, the results of this session show a low success rate. In this session, 36 candidates were re-registered, but only 18 of them physically appeared to take the exam. Of these, only 4 candidates managed to successfully pass the test and regain the right to drive.

Meanwhile, according to data from the DPSHTRR since the start of this campaign in June 2022, a total of 2063 candidates have been re-registered in driving schools, but only 275 of them or 13.3% have regained their driving license, returning to the road as more conscientious drivers. These results are evidence of the high level of difficulty of the test, to return to the road as a driver.

DPSHTRR appeals to drivers to respect the traffic rules, because if they lose all points, they will return to driving school and then, under strict monitoring, will regain their license. DPSHTRR also calls on citizens to commit to improving their knowledge as drivers and to prepare properly through the Code of Conduct Program and to practice with online simulations of the theoretical test, in order to regain their driving license.
