France secures 37 billion euros in foreign investment - President Macron welcomes over 200 business leaders in Versailles
France has secured 37 billion euros in foreign investment during the business summit in Versailles. The projects include various sectors such as technology, infrastructure and energy.
France has announced 37 billion euros in foreign investment, while President Emmanuel Macron hosted more than 200 top executives at a business summit in Versailles.
Of the total, 20 billion euros are "completely new" projects, a record for the event, which attracted 15 billion euros in commitments last year. The remaining 17 billion euros were announced in February and have now been finalized, the presidency added.
Among the major deals, US logistics giant Prologis will invest 6.4 billion euros in four data centers in the Ile-de-France region.
Emirati investors are also funding €8 billion as part of a larger €50 billion data infrastructure project.
Amazon is expected to announce a €300 million development, while Le Figaro reported four other major projects totaling €800 million. They include €90 million from German carmaker Daimler to expand an electric bus factory and €450 million from US recycler Circ for a textile recycling facility.
The government also announced plans to reform the textile recycling sector, calling the current model "exhausted".
Netflix sources said France remains "very important" for the platform. The film giant has hired 25,000 French actors and technicians between 2021 and 2024, including "Lupin," "Tapie" and "Sous la Seine."
The event includes other important sectors such as artificial intelligence and energy transition.
