What did we export and to which countries? Italy and Kosovo received the most from Albania
Albania continues to export and import various products according to domestic demands and the needs of trading partners. According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), during the first half of 2025 the country has recorded a series of positive developments in the field of exports, with several groups of chapters clearly dominating international trade.
The most exported products during this period were mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products, with a value reaching around 43 billion lek. These goods were mainly exported to Kosovo. Immediately after this group, footwear is ranked, which generated nearly 23 billion lek in export revenues.
Another important group was that of non-woven clothing and accessories, with an export value of around 18 billion lek, mainly to Italy. Machinery and electrical equipment also recorded a high export volume, with a value reaching 13 billion lek.
In addition to these, other economic groups have also contributed to Albanian exports during this period. Vegetables and agricultural products, lime and cement, ores, as well as iron and steel products, have also marked a significant increase in the value of exports.
In terms of export destinations, Italy holds the first place with a value of around 79 billion lek of goods exported from Albania for the first six months of the year alone. This strong trade relationship between the two countries remains a main pillar of the Albanian economy. After Italy, the list of largest partners is Kosovo with around 34 billion lek, while Greece has received Albanian goods with a value approaching 13 billion lek. Albanian exports have also been distributed to other countries such as Germany, Spain, Serbia and North Macedonia. Furthermore, Albania has established export relations with more distant markets such as China, demonstrating a clear tendency to diversify trade partners.
