Although at the beginning of this year, vegetables imported into Albania came cheaper compared to the same period last year, this has not been reflected in the final selling price in the country's traditional markets.

According to official data from the Institute of Statistics, during the first two months of the year, 1 kilogram of vegetables came from imports at an average of 68.7 lek.

While in the same period last year, the average was 78.5 lek. Meanwhile, citizens say that prices remain high.

According to official data from the Institute of Statistics, regarding the price of fruit, there has been no change at the beginning of this year, with 1 kilogram of imports costing an average of 78.9 lek, both at the beginning of this year and last year.

On the other hand, "Made in Albania" vegetables, where their export from 14 thousand tons in the period January-February 2024 reached 24 thousand tons at the beginning of this year, have not had a change in price, being sold for approximately 68.5 lek per kilogram.
