WE Finance Code, Ahmetaj: Opportunity for creating a comprehensive financial system
The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Ms. Natasha Ahmetaj, explains the importance of the WE Finance Code for creating a more inclusive financial system. According to her, the WE Finance Code brings a new approach to financing women-owned or -run businesses, enabling the collection and analysis of data by gender.
Through the National Analytical Panel (Dashboard), data on loans and deposits are combined with business characteristics, creating a new information base to better understand financing needs, barriers and opportunities.
As Ms. Ahmetaj points out, without data there can be no informed and effective decision-making.
The purpose of this initiative is not to orient the financial system towards a specific segment, but to create the conditions for it to be inclusive and effectively address the needs of all segments of the economy.
