BQE rrit normat e interesit, duke lënë të hapur mundësinë edhe për lëvizje të mëtejshme
Banka Qendrore Evropiane rriti normat e interesit të enjten për herë të dytë këtë vit për të shuar rritjen e inflacionit të shkaktuar nga energjia dhe paralajmëroi se presionet mbi çmimet mund të jenë të qëndrueshme, duke nxitur dyshimet për më shumë shtrëngim të politikave që në tetor.
Sulmet që nga fundi i gushtit nga SHBA-të dhe Irani ndaj aseteve ushtarake, të transportit detar dhe energjisë në të gjithë Lindjen e Mesme i kanë rritur çmimet e naftës mbi 100 dollarë për fuçi dhe kanë ringjallur frikën për një valë rritjesh çmimesh në eurozonën që importon karburante.
BQE-ja u përgjigj duke rritur normën e saj të interesit, një veprim që Presidentja e BQE-së, Christine Lagarde, e përshkroi si "të pamenduar" dhe paralajmëroi se kthimi i inflacionit në objektivin e tij prej 2%, që tani shihet në fund të vitit 2027, mund të vonohet edhe më tej.
"Perspektiva mbetet shumë e pasigurt, me rreziqe për rritjen e inflacionit dhe për rënien e rritjes ekonomike", tha Lagarde në një konferencë për shtyp. "Ne besojmë se inflacioni do të jetë më i qëndrueshëm nga sa kishim parashikuar", tha ajo.
