"Votes from Greece are being submitted manually to the CEC" - Nuri:

The political leader of the diaspora for the Democratic Party, Jozefina Topalli, in a statement to the media, raises concerns about the irregularities that she says are occurring with the voting process from abroad, specifically from Greece. Topalli underlines that the hand-delivery of votes constitutes a violation of the Electoral Code.

"If the boxes arrive filled, while Albanians living in Greece have not voted because the envelope did not arrive at their home, because they did not find the envelope at the gambling establishment, or because someone else took it and filled it out, of course this is called manipulation and not an election. Therefore, the CEC must treat the boxes coming from Greece completely differently and stop hand-delivering envelopes. Yesterday we submitted a request to the CEC for these very deep concerns and for these electoral crimes. The return of the service according to the DHL contract, to a service already offered by the SP structures and the government in Tirana, is unacceptable and throws out of play the entire process that has taken place there."

The Legal Representative of the Democratic Party, Franc Nuri, during the statement to the media added that all these envelopes have been blocked in the diaspora CEAZ and they would not be allowed to be counted along with other normal votes.

"We have made an official request and we have received a response from the CEC, which was about several such ballots and today they have attempted to take these ballots in boxes, and put them in other envelopes according to the districts and treat them as if they had arrived in a normal way, which is not true. All these envelopes have been blocked in the CEAZ of the diaspora and they would not be allowed to be counted together with the other normal votes. Because the rule and the law clearly stipulate that the ballots from the diaspora must come through the contracted postal operator. They must come and pass through the customs point in Rinas, be cleared, be delivered from customs to the postal operator and the latter must bring them with secure armored transport and bring them to the 'Feti Borova' Olympic Park. This is the protocol that we have agreed on and defined by law. No vote that arrives outside this protocol, manually, through different channels, to different postal operators, will be counted." "It can be treated and should be isolated, as Ms. Topalli said, and cannot be administered in this process."
