Berisha, call on the diaspora to vote - "If you come to vote on May 11, you will do a historic service to the country"
During a media conference, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, called on the diaspora to vote en masse in Sunday's parliamentary elections.
My call is, any of them, who can come to vote on May 11, do a historic service to their country and nation. May 11 is the defining day of the future of the Albanian nation. Hundreds of thousands of emigrants registered to vote, but an organized disorder was observed in two places with the post office, which has an authoritative, good name, but which displayed the greatest irregularities. This, I wish and hope, will not discourage, but on the contrary, encourage every Albanian citizen abroad who can come these two days and vote at the polling stations, it would be an extraordinary service, a unique opportunity given to them to serve the country.
Berisha has also invited the citizens of Tirana and all of Albania to the closing rally of the campaign this evening at the New Boulevard.
Today we close the most beautiful, most enthusiastic, most optimistic campaign, for free Albanians, for free people on the New Boulevard of the capital. This campaign, for which I want to thank with gratitude every participant from all four corners of Albania, from Saranda to Tropoja, this campaign was characterized by a real hurricane that originated from the heart and soul of the Albanian people. Two campaigns ran parallel in the territories of the country.
One campaign by force of the narco-state and the other campaign of free citizens determined to drive out the narco-state. Tonight, this fantastic campaign, which took place for a month, we must place the most beautiful crown on its forehead, on the forehead of Albania. Therefore, I invite the citizens of Tirana and all of Albania to join us today on the New Boulevard in a magnificent celebration of the victory of May 11.
