Government decisions, the establishment and operation of the National Search and Rescue Center is approved

At this Friday's meeting, the Council of Ministers approved a decision on the organization and functioning of the National Search and Rescue Center, defining the competencies of this institution and the National Coordinator for search and rescue. Under the Ministry of Defense, the NCC extends its activity throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, but is organized at a central level, with headquarters in Tirana. The appointment of the head of the NCC, if he has military status, is made by the Minister of Defense, upon the proposal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. If he is non-military, it is made by the Minister of Defense, without a proposal from others. Meanwhile, the National Coordinator for Search and Rescue in the Republic of Albania is the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, the list of other decisions approved at this same meeting by the government also includes:
Adoption of measures to ensure the continuity of the provision of electronic communications services in emergency situations.
Approval of the National Waste Prevention Program.
Declaration of "Immovable Cultural Property" of several important areas: the Bylis and Klos Archaeological Park and the approval of the zoning and the plan for its preservation, protection and administration; of the "A" archaeological zone of Bushati, Vau i Dejës Municipality; of the Orikum Archaeological Park, according to the zoning map and coordinates in the Albanian Geodetic Reference Framework (KRGJSH), which are attached to this decision.
Declaration of immovable cultural property "Urban architectural ensemble" of an area in the city of Delvina, according to the map and coordinates in the Albanian Geodetic Reference Framework (KRGJSH), which are attached to this decision.
Opening the admission procedure in the lower and middle management category for other candidates outside the Civil Service for 2026, as well as
