“Further reduction in electricity prices” - Balluku: Current scheme encourages energy saving. Market liberalization continues in January
Policies in the electricity sector will focus on reducing energy prices for customers. The statement was made by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, during the presentation of the OECD report on the energy sector.
" It will continue on this path that it has started to do its best to create energy sustainability, not only for our country, but also for the region. But without neglecting for a moment the focus we have on Albanian citizens and the Albanian economy to provide the lowest possible prices and to incentivize programs and education regarding energy efficiency," said Balluku.
Balluku also spoke about the energy pricing scheme currently applied to household customers, emphasizing that the goal is to encourage energy saving.
"It is a reduction that is based on savings, since we have decided that this reduction can only be applied to those subscribers who consume up to 700 kWh/month, thus encouraging the citizen, the family subscriber to start saving because the more they save, the more they benefit," said Balluku.
During her speech, the minister confirmed that the liberalization of the energy market will continue with customers connected to 6 KV voltage, who will be disconnected from OSHEE's supply from January next year.
