Urban transformation in Saranda - ADF opens tender, 270.4 million lek for the "Butrinti" road
The Albanian Development Fund has announced the opening of the tender for the urban transformation of key public spaces, the requalification of "Butrinti" street, Saranda. The fund limit reaches 270 million and 481 thousand lekë.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, this road is of particular importance in the urban planning of the city of Saranda, as it is a main artery for the city's traffic. This project aims to rehabilitate the road, preserving its existing cross-section, organizing sidewalks and parking lots, as well as improving the quality of service of this road.
Meanwhile, the existing road on which the road rehabilitation will be applied is presented with asphalt in a worn state and is damaged, also due to the heavy traffic, which has temporarily served for new constructions on this road. Referring to the document, the road has ditches along its entire length on both sides, which have been amortized over the years and need to be replaced. On the other side of the road, the presence of sidewalks is partial, but also with a very small width and sometimes disappears.
The road also has one lane, one for each direction of traffic. This road will be two-way and will be entirely paved with asphalt surface layers.
Based on the Highway Code regulation, the speed limit on this road is 40 km/h. The road will meet the highest standards in terms of: safety; capacity; road user behavior; accepted design speed.
