Political entities "start the engines" of the campaign - One month

Political entities competing for the May 11 parliamentary elections are launching their electoral campaign today.

The Democratic Party and the Alliance for a Greater Albania will begin their journey this evening at 7:00 PM in Tirana's "Mother Teresa" Square.

Meanwhile, the Socialist Party, which is seeking a fourth mandate in government, has selected "Skënderbej" Square. It was the Prime Minister and leader of this political force, Edi Rama, who the day before announced the date of April 12, 12:00, due to the symbolism of the 12 stars on the EU flag and the focus on European integration.

The “Euroatlantic Coalition”, with political leader Lulzim Basha, will open its campaign on April 12, at 11:00, in a private restaurant near Tirana. The “Mundësia” party will open its campaign on Sunday at 17:00 at the Palace of Congresses. The “Albania Becomes” initiative will open its campaign in Vlora on April 12, at 18:00, in the square in front of the “Flamurtari” stadium. Meanwhile, Arlind Qori’s “Lëvizja Bashkë” will officially open its electoral campaign on April 13 in Fier at 10:30 at the Bylis Theater.

For the 140 mandates of the Assembly, each force or coalition, according to the new electoral formula, has 186 candidates for deputies, where 46 are from the closed list and 140 from the open list.

The novelty of these elections is the first-ever diaspora vote. Officially, 245,935 Albanians living and working abroad have registered to vote, most of whom are in Italy, Greece and Germany.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, the Ministry of Interior published the final voter list for voters within the country.

According to data generated by the General Directorate of Civil Status, 3,713,761 Albanian citizens, both inside and outside the country, have the right to vote, of which 114,642 voters are voting for the first time, 1,081 citizens are excluded due to decriminalization. Meanwhile, 5,225 is the number of voting centers.
