Documentation for external voting is being prepared - According to the CEC, the process includes several important logistical and technical phases
The Central Election Commission has officially launched the process of preparing electoral documentation for Albanian voters living abroad and who will exercise their right to vote in the elections for the Albanian Parliament on May 11, 2025. The process is taking place at the premises of the “Feti Borova” Olympic Park in Tirana and includes several important logistical and technical phases.
In the first phase, the ballots are being stamped according to electoral districts and placed in envelope “A”, which contains only the ballot. These envelopes will then be placed in the outer envelopes of the CEC and in the final envelope of the postal service operator that will distribute them outside Albania.
The entire process is being conducted in accordance with the decisions of the Regulatory Commission and the State Election Commissioner, and is fully transparent. The process is being monitored by representatives of electoral entities, international and domestic observers, as well as media representatives.
The main preparation steps are the sealing and packaging of ballots in the respective envelopes, placing the envelopes in the CEC's outer packaging, the final check of the electoral documentation and the submission of the documentation to the postal operator for shipment abroad.
According to the CEC, this is a very important step in guaranteeing the participation of our fellow citizens living abroad in the country's democratic process.
