Rainfall situation, Balluku at Koman HPP: No gates opening expected

The situation in the Drin River Cascade is completely under control and the opening of the hydroelectric power plants is not foreseen. This was the message conveyed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Belinda Balluku, during an inspection in the evening hours at the Koman Hydropower Plant. Ms. Balluku stated:
"The weather is expected to improve on Thursday and there will be aggravation again on Friday. However, we are prepared and what is most important, which we want to tell everyone, is that the gates of the hydropower plants are not expected to be opened. The news is often abused in cases of flooding in Nënëskodra, so we are letting you know that we have the capacities, because we have been working since November 11 to release volumes and we have about 4.5 meters of opportunity to accumulate in Lake Vau i Dejës and about 7 meters in Lake Koman. Meanwhile, the 5 aggregates of Vau i Dejës are in operation and the 4 aggregates of Koman are in operation, while Fierza remains closed to accumulate as much as possible and to increase the level of the lake."
