How should the labor market be motivated? - Kasmi: Support from the state and the employer is needed for employees
The Albanian government is ready to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises through financial funds. This fund will serve to increase their competitiveness, development, and investments in innovation and technology.
But according to employment expert Eni Kasmi, state financial support for the private sector is of great importance as it offers many development opportunities to employees.
"If we talk about the private sector, there are many possibilities. It could be the allocation of various grants to the company in which the annual balance will be low, meaning that this employer has kept its workers or employees very well and why not, not to be accompanied by an annual grant or bonus in order for the employer to spend this bonus next year on the training budget or on the budget for social activities that can have a very nice trip, and this keeps the employees close. Another thing we could propose is that if we have good potential in the company and they are good at their profession. We can give them the opportunity to train, even abroad, by offering training and education programs, financed in some percentage by the employer itself, and in some percentage by the state. It would be very good and this forces the employees to return to the workplace after training. And they have not lost their jobs, but we have not lost the employee either."
The private sector is also a key actor in motivating the market. Entrepreneurs and investors must contribute to the development of production, innovation and the creation of employment opportunities.
"If we want this employee to give in the workplace and have the opportunity to grow, there is potential, and this has a career and development plan. These types of plans bring the employee closer to the company. Usually, large companies, when they have vacant positions, have to distribute them within their company and start recruiting new people. If there are no applications from within, then they can hire new employees. When we promote employees, from within the company itself, we have given a very good reason and motivation for the employees who are recruited in that company, they are junior and can move to better positions tomorrow, the day after tomorrow."
