Albanians are breaking away from the traditional way of booking holidays through travel agencies and are choosing to organize every detail themselves.
According to data from the National Business Center, some of the largest tourist agencies in the country report a decrease in annual turnover during 2023, compared to 2022, also affecting the profit rate.
According to data from INSTAT, the number of Albanians leaving the country during 2023 reached almost 7 million, or about 1.1 million more than in 2022.
While last year, this number marked a record of 7.9 million, with the majority of travelers organizing their own vacations, avoiding the services of travel agencies.
With the rise of independent bookings, the landscape of the tourism market is changing significantly.
