Through a social media post, the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP in Albania announces that students at the 9-year "Riza Shera" school in Manëz, Durrës have returned to new, stronger and more modern classrooms.

This has been made possible thanks to the complete renovation and reinforcement by the “EU4Schools” / “EU for Schools” Program.

"Today, around 130 children learn in a safe and inspiring environment that helps them dream more about the future. In the Municipality of Durrës, 14 schools out of 18 that are the focus of reconstruction and/or repair by EU4Schools in this municipality have been completed so far," the UNDP Albania publication highlights.

The "EU4Schools" program is funded by the European Union with 75 million Euros and is implemented by UNDP in Albania in cooperation with the Albanian government.

So far, 59 out of 63 educational facilities in 11 municipalities affected by the 2019 earthquake have been completed under this program, impacting the lives of over 25,000 students, children, and teachers.
