"Growth Plan" Summit in Tirana - Rama: We are here to build what we have to build today
The summit "Growth Plan, our path to the EU" has started in Tirana, where Western Balkan leaders and the European Union Enlargement Commissioner, Marta Kos, will share discussions on the growth plan, economic integration and the transformation of the region towards the European Union Market.
During his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama said: "The regional cooperation trains started and we remained on the platform. Europe was not built by sitting and waiting, but by acting. We are here to build gold that it is our duty to build today. People do not feel integration, they feel lower costs, easier and faster travel, freedom of movement. Roaming tariffs between the EU and the Western Balkans will end in 2026. Citizens will feel the effect in their pockets. There is now a program between the EU and the Western Balkans that will end the tariffs. It will be our next success after SEPA. Roaming is not about phone bills, but about removing another artificial border between our citizens and Europe. From the new year, it will become part of our lives, an identity, a digital life throughout the EU region, and when the EU starts with it, in 2027, we will be waiting there for the EU.
