The hall welcomes the Italian ambassador: Deepening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, rural development and food security!
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, received in a friendly meeting the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Albania, Marco Alberti.
During the meeting, the strategic importance of the partnership between Albania and Italy in the sectors of agriculture, rural development and food security was emphasized.
Minister Salla expressed his appreciation for the continued support of the Italian state in important projects for sustainable rural development, strengthening production and processing capacities, and increasing the competitiveness of Albanian products in international markets.
The parties shared a common vision for further deepening cooperation within the framework of the "Agriculture 2030" vision, with a focus on agri-food innovation, digitalization of the sector, youth involvement, and strengthening food safety standards in line with the EU acquis communautaire.
In particular, the progress of current projects financed by the Italian side in Albania was discussed, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of the "Blue Economy", as a new approach for the sustainable development of coastal areas and communities dependent on maritime and aquaculture.
Minister Salla and Ambassador Alberti also praised the increasing participation of Albanian actors in prestigious international fairs such as "Macfrut", as a clear indicator of the increased capacities of the Albanian agricultural sector to be competitive in the European market.
Also, the growing interest of Italian companies to invest in Albania was highlighted, especially in the segments of the production and processing chain of agricultural and agri-food products "Made in Albania", which constitutes an important opportunity for the sustainable economic development of the country and the growth of exports.
Minister Salla and Ambassador Alberti reaffirmed their joint commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations in the field of agriculture, through continuous institutional dialogue, exchange of experiences, and implementation of concrete projects with direct impact on farmers and rural communities.
