How many Diaspora Votes have been cast in the CEC? - Greek immigrants must send in their electoral envelopes by May 6th
The number of voters from abroad is 245,935 in total, and thus, the same number of envelopes were sent, while 221,653 envelopes were received by voters, and 144,783 envelopes arrived at the Central Election Commission. But what is the situation regarding the return of electoral envelopes from countries around the world where Albanian emigrants voted?
According to data from the Central Election Commission, out of 91,216 approved voters in Italy, by noon on May 5, 63,220 envelopes, or 25.7%, had arrived. In Germany, there are 25,491 approved voters, and 18,193 electoral envelopes have arrived at the CEC.
In the United States of America, out of 20,646 approved voters, 14,427 ballot envelopes have arrived at the CEC.
But, a large difference is seen in the figures of Greece's electoral envelopes, between the number of approved voters which is 68,380 in total, and the number of envelopes received which is 23,640 so far.
Meanwhile, referring to the latest announcements, for all Albanian emigrants living in Greece, but not on the islands, from this Monday, until Friday, May 9, DHL postal service points will operate with extended hours. According to the announcement, for all Albanian emigrants living on the islands of Greece, due to the company's inability to transport the shipment by plane on time beyond the next 24 hours, the final date to return the envelopes to DHL, SPEEDEX or Courier Center postal service points is Tuesday, May 6, in order to ensure their return to Albania within the deadline.
