Tax on salaries "fills" the state coffers - 3-month period/ 168 million euros more collected. TAP increases by 35.7%
The state budget has collected 181.1 billion lek as of March this year.
Official data from the Ministry of Finance shows that compared to the period January-March 2024, about 16.8 billion lek more, or about 10.2%, was collected.
Revenues from taxes and customs resulted in an increase of 15.2 billion lek in the 3-month period.
Personal income tax was the item that made the main contribution to this performance, with an increase of 35.7%, 5.5 billion lek, or approximately 55 million euros.
Specifically, Personal Income Tax was collected in the amount of 20.7 billion lek, exceeding the plan by about 18.5%. In addition to the reform of salary increases in public administration and the anti-informality reform, this item was significantly affected by the revenues collected from the obligations of the Individual Annual Income Declaration, where this year the number of employees who declared doubled compared to the previous year.
VAT revenues were collected in the amount of 56.6 billion lek, an increase of 4.8 billion lek compared to the previous year.
12 billion lek were collected from national taxes, with an increase of 1 billion lek compared to the first three months of 2024, and 17.3 billion lek were collected from profit tax.
Social and health insurance revenues also increased by 11.9%, reaching 43.9 billion lek, or approximately 4.7 billion lek higher than March 2024.
Capital expenditures for the 3-month period of 2025 resulted in about 8.2 billion lek, while compared to the same period a year earlier, this item was 1.9 billion lek more or about 31% higher.
