How much has the map of foreigners visiting us expanded? - January-August, Albania welcomed almost 9 million tourists
Albania welcomed 200 thousand more tourists than last August, reaching 2.38 million visitors in the eighth month of 2025. Meanwhile, for the period January-August 2025, Albania welcomed almost 9 million foreign visitors. Compared to the same period last year, there are about 500 thousand more tourists who have chosen Albania to spend their holidays or to visit it.
But during this period, how and to what extent has the map of tourists visiting our country expanded?
Kosovo Albanians continue to be loyal visitors to Albania. But not only in the summer season, they are year-round visitors to Albanian tourism. Across the Adriatic, Italian tourists have become the second largest market choosing the Albanian coasts and mountains to vacation.
But as we grow significantly in new markets, not traditional for Albanian tourism, the map of visitors from Germany marked an increase this period of almost 21%. Another increase has been recorded by vacationers coming from France with 44%, to continue with significant growth with the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium. The increase in tourists visiting us is across the ocean in the United States of America, to Asian markets.
A consolidated growth is China with 28% more than last year, followed by significant growth from India, Brazil, Australia, there is also growth or even growth from Turkey, etc. Although last year was considered a "fire test" to maintain the successes of 2023, now, the numbers, i.e. the quantity of tourists, are no longer a priority. The priority of Albania Tourism is the quality of tourists visiting our country.
