"Pjetër Budi" Street Towards Complete Reconstruction - Investment Includes Asphalting, Sidewalks and Lighting

The Municipality of Tirana has announced the opening of the competition for the reconstruction of "Pjetër Budi" street. The limit fund made available is 250 million and 537 thousand lekë.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, this project will enable the construction of the most suitable infrastructure for the residents of the area of administrative unit 2, as well as for passers-by in the area.
From an urban point of view, the street is part of the areas where residential buildings are located in an irregular shape. The density of construction is high and public spaces are almost completely absent. The street has a length of approximately 3 km and a width that varies from 4-6 m. It extends approximately 2.5 km from the center of Tirana and begins in the “Student City” area. This street is an indirect connecting road of the populated area of “Elbasan” street and “Student City”, with the “Lake of Farka” area.
According to the document, the existing condition of the road is not good, where the condition of the asphalt layers and subgrades is significantly damaged, mainly along its entire length. Sidewalks are missing almost along its entire length or, where they are present, are very worn out.
Meanwhile, the entire axis of the road is planned to undergo a complete reconstruction of the asphalt layers of the road network, the construction of sidewalks; the construction of a rainwater drainage system. Also, the lighting system will be powered by low-voltage electricity from the 20/0.4 kV cabin; as well as the greenery that is part of the project throughout the segment. Likewise, the speed of movement will be 30 km/h since a movement must be ensured that adapts to the urban aspect and at the same time the terrain that the road route traverses. Meanwhile, it is also planned to install signaling signs.
This project will meet the conditions and standards for the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The rehabilitation of all elements of the road infrastructure will radically change the quality of life, the document states.
