Consumption growth filled the state coffers - 7-month period, 301 million euros

The state budget collected 432.7 billion lek in the first 7 months of the year, registering an increase of approximately 30.1 billion lek or 301 million euros compared to the same period a year ago.

According to official data from the Ministry of Finance, revenues from taxes and customs were recorded at 287 billion lek, with an increase of 25.25 billion lek.

Gross Value Added Tax, as an indicator of domestic consumption but also imports, is recorded at 143.3 billion lek, with an increase of 21.1 billion lek compared to January-July 2024.

While reimbursements for this period reached 13 billion lek.

Personal income tax is the item that has performed well due to the anti-informality campaign and under-declaration of salaries, causing collections to reach 48.2 billion lek, an increase of 10.1 billion lek compared to the 7 months of 2024.

Revenues from Special Funds were realized in the amount of 104.2 billion lek, with an increase of 11.8 billion lek. 37 billion lek were collected from profit tax and 27 billion lek from national taxes, items that have experienced a slight increase compared to the previous year.

Excise revenue reached 39 billion lek, impacted by the increased volume of imports of excise goods, such as fuel, beer, coffee and cigarettes.

Meanwhile, the local government has collected around 22.7 billion lek, not having a positive performance, as revenues are around 1.8 billion lek lower compared to the previous year.

Capital expenditures for the 7-month period of 2025 amounted to approximately 41.9 billion lek. Compared to the same period a year ago, this item resulted in 8.3 billion lek more. In relation to the annual plan, the implementation is at the rate of 26%.
