License retest, 13.1% of drivers regain their license - DPSHTRR: Only prepared drivers return to traffic

Regaining a driver's license remains a challenge for many drivers. Official figures show that not everyone is prepared to get back behind the wheel.
The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has published the results of the next driving license retest session, where the pass rate was low.
Out of 43 re-registered candidates, only 5 managed to successfully pass the test, clearly reflecting the high requirements that the authorities have set for guaranteeing road safety and traffic discipline.
According to data from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, since the launch of the driver retesting campaign, a total of 2,804 candidates have been re-registered in June 2022. Of these, only 369 drivers, or 13.1%, have managed to regain their driving license.
This process is not aimed at punishing drivers, but at increasing road safety standards. Strict rules and strong assessment criteria are in place to ensure that only those drivers who demonstrate responsibility, proper driving skills, correct behavior towards other road users and full knowledge of the Highway Code are allowed back on the road.
On the other hand, many candidates fail due to lack of preparation and neglect of basic rules.
Meanwhile, DPSHTRR calls on drivers who are in the retesting process to utilize official preparation resources, including online test simulation and dedicated applications on digital platforms.
The DPSHTRR emphasizes that roads require responsible drivers, and regaining a driving license is a process that requires dedication and awareness.
