Tropoja wind farm presented - With an expected capacity of 600 MW, it is being developed by the American company CWP

Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, present the investment in the Tropoja wind farm.
The park with an expected capacity of 600 MW, being developed by the American company CWP, is proof that Albania is moving towards a strong and sustainable energy future.
In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku said: "In 2018, Albania began talking about a strategy for resource diversification. A new energy scheme that would be based on the creation of alternative sources, such as solar energy and then wind energy. Foreign direct investment is the clearest indicator of economic and institutional stability.
In recent times alone, over 1.5 billion euros of private investments are underway in the energy sector. Over these years, over 2 billion euros of investments have been committed in total. We have a portfolio of projects that will take capacities beyond 1500mgw/h.
In wind energy, for the first time, we are entering the phase of implementing concrete projects with an expected capacity of 600mgw/h.
Wind farms are more difficult to study and build. All this diversification makes us more resilient to climate change.
These private investments have a direct impact on the energy sector, reduce import dependence, are investments that create jobs, increase incomes and strengthen the local economy.
"Albania is investing in transmission lines, connecting with all our neighbors. Almost the entire line that goes to North Macedonia has been completed. Albania is one of the best connected countries in the transmission system."
