Vehicle circulation continues normally on all axes - ARRSH: Winter tires are needed in mountainous areas

The Albanian Road Authority has announced that no rain or snow was recorded during the night. Atmospheric conditions are stable, however temperatures have recorded very low values, especially in the mountainous and northeastern areas of Albania.
According to the ARA, temperatures have dropped to -18 degrees Celsius in Valbona, -15 degrees in Kukës, -10 degrees in Dibër, and -15 degrees Celsius in Qafë Thanë, creating conditions for frost, especially during the early morning hours.
Meanwhile, road traffic has continued normally on all road axes, without any problems. The contactors are on the ground without interruption, who have carried out the cleaning of the road axes and the distribution of salt, to avoid frost, in order to prevent landslides and increase safety for road users.
The Albanian Road Authority appeals to drivers to be careful while driving, to respect traffic rules and to adapt their speed to weather conditions. It is also recommended that vehicles be equipped with winter tires and chains, especially for those traveling to mountainous areas or roads where there is snow and a risk of frost.
Authorities remain in constant monitoring of the situation and call on citizens to regularly inform themselves about traffic conditions before setting off on a journey.
