Urban redevelopment in Ksamil - Investment of around 75 million lek for new roads, lighting and sidewalks
The Municipality of Saranda has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of sidewalks, the redevelopment of side fences on internal roads, and the redevelopment of recreational areas in Ksamil.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the limit fund for this investment amounts to 74 million 925 thousand lekë, which aims to improve the existing infrastructure.
Ksamil is one of the most important tourist destinations in the south, widely known for its crystal clear waters and often called the “Caribbean of Europe”. This destination welcomes an ever-increasing number of domestic and foreign visitors every year, making it necessary to improve the road and urban infrastructure in order to meet the demands of the tourist season and the high visitor turnover.
Referring to the document, the project focuses on one of the internal roads of Ksamil. This road, although built several years ago, is in fairly good condition, but requires intervention to expand it in order to create dedicated pedestrian lanes. The expansion is considered necessary to increase safety, facilitate movement and avoid traffic conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians.
The project also foresees the implementation of a number of other important works, including sidewalks, lighting along the road, and the redevelopment of recreational spaces, which will be transformed into more functional, more aesthetic, and more welcoming environments for tourists and residents.
