The Bank of Albania supports the undertaking of a reform in the social insurance scheme, taking into consideration the deficit presented today by the current scheme, but also the demographic changes that have resulted from the aging of the population and the emigration of the workforce".
During a hearing on the 2025 budget, First Deputy Governor Luljeta Minxhozi presented the position of the Bank of Albania, giving the suggestions of the institution she represents on the reform that should be undertaken in this scheme and that affects the income of pensioners next.
Likewise, the Bank of Albania requested the increase of human resource capacities that design public-private partnership projects, focusing on the legal and financial risks that may arise as a result of irregularities.
Minxhozi also focused on the need to design a medium-term revenue strategy.
Meanwhile, regarding the projections that the government has on the increase in income, mainly from the action for the real declaration of salaries, the Bank of Albania requires continued attention from the fiscal authorities for the rigorous monitoring of the progress of the realization of income, in order to identify in time negative differences between the level of realization and their planning.
