How much does it cost to produce a book? - The devaluation of the euro has increased costs in Albania compared to other countries in the region
Starting from the raw material to the cover, the production of a book of 300 pages costs about 1.75 euros.
In an interview at the Book Fair held at the Palace of Congresses, one of the publishing houses tells SCAN TV the criteria on which production costs depend.
The devaluation of the euro seems to have affected the book market as well. In addition to Albania, publishing houses from 3 other countries of the region, whose currency is the euro, participate in the Fair.
In this way, the cost to produce a book in Albania becomes more expensive than in other countries of the region.
The ratio between the publishing house and the writer for profit sharing depends on several factors.
If the Writer is a well-known individual in the market the profit ratio is biased towards him. Whereas, when the writer is young, the biggest profit goes to the publishing house, which also does the promotion.
